Quinder 48V 550W OEM Hub Motor for Machinery & Agricultural Equipment
The Quinder 48V 550W Brushless Hub Motor is designed as an OEM drive component for integration into agricultural machinery, mobile robots, AGVs and other low-speed electric vehicles.
By integrating the brushless motor, planetary gearbox and wheel hub into one compact unit, the Quinder Hub Motor provides machine builders with an alternative to conventional drive systems using separate motors, gearboxes, chains or drive shafts.
Because each driven wheel can have its own motor, no mechanical drive axle is required between the left and right wheels. This provides additional freedom in chassis design and makes the motor particularly suitable for high-clearance agricultural vehicles designed to travel over crops, plants and growing beds.
The motor is intended for applications where high wheel torque, low vehicle speed, compact installation and mechanical design flexibility are important.
Designed for OEM Integration
The Quinder Hub Motor is supplied as a drive component for manufacturers and developers building their own machines and vehicles.
Typical applications include:
-
Agricultural and horticultural machinery
-
Autonomous agricultural robots
-
Weeding and hoeing machines
-
Greenhouse and nursery equipment
-
High-clearance crop vehicles
-
AGVs and mobile platforms
-
Inspection and service robots
-
Low-speed industrial vehicles
-

Compact Direct Wheel Drive
The electric motor and planetary reduction gearbox are integrated directly into the wheel hub. This can significantly simplify the mechanical drivetrain of a machine.
Depending on the vehicle design, this can eliminate the need for:
This makes the Quinder Hub Motor particularly suitable for machines where installation space is limited, individual wheel drive is required or a conventional drivetrain would restrict the machine design.
High Ground Clearance & Flexible Vehicle Design
One of the key advantages of individual hub motors is the freedom they provide in chassis design.
Unlike conventional drive systems, no mechanical drive axle is required between the left and right driven wheels. Each wheel can be driven independently by its own hub motor.
This leaves the space between the wheels free and allows OEM engineers to design machines with high ground clearance, without a low-mounted driven axle crossing underneath the vehicle.
This is particularly useful for agricultural and horticultural machines designed to:
-
Travel over crops and plants
-
Operate above growing beds
-
Straddle crop rows
-
Work in nurseries and greenhouses
-
Provide clearance for plants or implements underneath the machine
The chassis structure can be positioned above the wheel centres while the drive remains integrated directly into the wheels. This gives machine builders considerable freedom when developing high-clearance agricultural vehicles and specialised mobile platforms.
Independent Wheel Drive
Individual hub motors also make it possible to drive multiple wheels independently.
Depending on the controller and vehicle control system, this architecture can be used for machines requiring:
-
Two-wheel or four-wheel drive
-
Independent control of driven wheels
-
Differential wheel speeds
-
Compact multi-wheel drive systems
-
Electrically controlled steering and drive concepts
This can be particularly useful for autonomous agricultural machines and robotic platforms where conventional mechanical drivetrains would add complexity or limit the vehicle layout.
Controller Compatibility
The Quinder Hub Motor can be operated with a suitable 48V BLDC motor controller.
Quinder controllers are available as an option and can be configured for use with this motor. OEM customers may also integrate the motor with another suitable BLDC controller as part of their own control system.
For OEM integration, the final motor-controller configuration, wiring and complete machine must be evaluated by the machine manufacturer for the applicable EMC requirements.
